birdies

Do you see the little nest hidden in the middle of the plant? Imagine my surprise when I went to water the flowers that John gave me for mother's day and a bird flew out of the flower basket, leaving a nest with fuzzy little baby birds behind, their fragile necks stretched upward with disproportionatly large beaks wide open, waiting for food. Over the next couple weeks I checked in on my little baby birds, making sure not to drown them when I watered.
Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:25-26
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young-- a place near your altar, O Lord Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. Psalm 84:1-4
